TNews, JAKARTA<\/strong> – Jumlah kasus positif virus Corona COVID-19 semakin bertambah di dunia. Pada Selasa (14\/4\/2020) orang terinfeksi virus Corona hampir menembus angka dua juta orang. Awalnya virus ini dilaporkan mulai menginfeksi manusia pada akhir Desember 2019 di Wuhan, China.<\/p>\n

Hingga saat ini penyebaran virus Corona COVID-19 belum menunjukan tanda-tanda berhenti. Bahkan laju penularannya semakin meningkat di beberapa negara termasuk Indonesia.<\/p>\n

Lalu bagaimana pandemi Corona COVID-19 ini bisa berakhir?<\/p>\n

Dikutip dari Daily Sabah, terdapat tiga skenario yang memungkinkan bisa membuat virus Corona ini akan berakhir.<\/p>\n

  1. Herd Immunity<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Skenario pertama mengacu pada herd immunity. Herd immunity diartikan sebagai situasi ketika banyak orang dalam satu populasi memiliki kekebalan terhadap penyakit. Kekebalan dapat dicapai ketika cukup banyak orang dalam populasi terinfeksi lalu pulih atau dengan vaksinasi untuk dapat secara efektif menghentikan penyebaran penyakit itu.<\/p>\n

    Namun herd immunity mempunyai risiko tinggi karena penyebaran yang cepat akan menyebabkan tingginya tingkat rawat inap dan penggunaan fasilitas kesehatan. Terlebih belum terdapat vaksin efektif untuk virus Corona.<\/p>\n

    1. Vaksin yang efektif<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      Skenario kedua dipandang menjadi opsi yang paling memungkinkan untuk memberantas penyakit ini untuk selamanya. Para ilmuwan hingga saat ini masih terus bekerja keras untuk mengembangkan vaksin untuk virus Corona.<\/p>\n

      Namun, untuk dapat menemukan vaksin virus Corona memerlukan waktu lama dan biaya yang mahal. Butuh waktu bertahun-tahun sebelum vaksin lulus tes keamanan dan keefektifan dalam uji klinis. Biaya yang diperlukan untuk mengembangkan vaksin ini pun cukup mahal, diperkirakan sebanyak 800 juta dolar AS atau 12 triliun rupiah.<\/p>\n

      1. Mutasi virus<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

        Skenario terakhir yang bisa menghentikan persebaran virus Corona adalah dengan mutasi. Semua virus akan bermutasi dari waktu ke waktu atau mengalami perubahan dalam genomnya. Virus Corona COVID-19 pada umumnya memiliki 85 persen kemiripan genetik dengan virus SARS (Severe Accute Respiratory Syndrome) dalam wabah 2002 lalu.<\/p>\n

        Ketika virus bermutasi menjadi sesuatu yang lebih parah, maka tingkat infeksinya akan yang jauh lebih rendah untuk manusia sehingga membuat kematian sendiri pada virus tersebut.<\/p>\n
