Para peneliti di Institut Hubrecht di Utrecht, Pusat Medis Universitas Erasmus MC Rotterdam dan Universitas Maastricht menemukan bagaimana\u00a0virus Corona\u00a0dapat menginfeksi sel-sel usus dan akhirnya berkembang biak.<\/p>\n<p>Peneliti membuat model untuk menjelaskan mengapa beberapa orang mengidap masalah pencernaan dengan menggunakan model kultur usus manusia. Mereka memonitor bagaimana sel-sel dalam tubuh merespon strain virus tersebut.<\/p>\n<p>Sekitar sepertiga dari pasien yang terinfeksi ditemukan memiliki masalah dengan\u00a0diare\u00a0dalam penelitian yang diterbitkan pada jurnal ilmiah Science 1 Mei lalu. Mengutip Medical Daily, seperti diketahui virus Corona dapat menyebar melalui droplet batuk dan bersin. Saat ini nampaknya strain tersebut juga ditularkan melalui tinja manusia, yang oleh peneliti disebut sebagai fecal-oral transmission.<\/p>\n<p>Dari sudut pandang tertentu, tampak bahwa penyebab terinfeksi COVID-19 dapat meluas. Dalam model penelitian tersebut, ditemukan bahwa ACE2, atau &#8216;pintu masuk&#8217; SARS-CoV-2 ke dalam tubuh, penuh dalam usus beberapa pasien COVID-19.<\/p>\n<p>Melalui mikroskop elektron, para ilmuwan dapat menemukan keberadaan virus pada sel-sel usus dan dapat bereplikasi dari waktu ke waktu. Peneliti kemudian menyelidiki respon sel-sel usus menggunakan sekuensing RNA yang merupakan metode untuk mempelajari gen mana yang aktif dalam sel usus.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Pengamatan yang dilakukan dalam penelitian ini memberikan bukti yang pasti bahwa SARS-CoV-2 dapat berkembang biak dalam sel-sel saluran pencernaan. Namun, kami belum tahu apakah adanya SARS-CoV-2 di usus pasien COVID-19, memainkan peran penting dalam penularan. Temuan kami menunjukkan bahwa kami harus melihat kemungkinan ini lebih dekat,&#8221; jelas Bart Haagmans, peneliti utama di departemen Viroscience di Erasmus MC University Medical Center Rotterdam.<\/p>\n<p>Sebelumnya, peneliti dari Tongji Medical College, China, melihat data dari pasien COVID-19 untuk menganalisis berbagai gejala yang dialami oleh mereka. Hasilnya menunjukkan gejala pencernaan lazim ditemukan.
