TNews, KESEHATAN <\/strong>– Organisasi Kesehatan Dunia (WHO) pada Selasa (7\/7\/2020) waktu setempat mengakui “bukti yang muncul” dari penyebaran virus Corona COVID-19 lewat udara, setelah sekelompok ilmuwan mendesak WHO untuk memperbarui panduannya tentang bagaimana penyakit pernapasan bisa menular.<\/p>\n

“Kami telah berbicara tentang kemungkinan transmisi udara dan transmisi aerosol sebagai salah satu mode transmisi COVID-19,” ujar Maria Van Kerkhove, pimpinan teknis pada pandemi COVID-19 di WHO, mengatakan pada konferensi pers dikutip dari laman South China Morning Post.<\/p>\n

Sebelumnya WHO mengatakan bahwa virus Corona COVID-19 menyebar melalui droplet orang yang terinfeksi.<\/p>\n

Dalam surat terbuka yang ditujukan kepada WHO yang diterbitkan pada Senin (6\/7\/2020) dalam jurnal Clinical Infectious Diseases, sebanyak 239 ilmuwan dari 32 negara menyatakan virus corona SARS-CoV-2 menular tidak hanya melalui percikan liur atau droplet. Mereka mengatakan virus yang menyebabkan penyakit COVID-19 itu juga bisa menular lewat udara.<\/p>\n

Dengan kata lain virus Corona terdapat di dalam partikel yang jauh lebih kecil dari droplet yang bertahan selama berjam-jam di udara setelah orang berbicara atau bernapas.<\/p>\n

“Kami ingin mereka mengakui bukti,” kata Jose Jimenez, seorang ahli kimia di University of Colorado yang menandatangani surat terbuka.<\/p>\n

Benedetta Allegranzi, pimpinan teknis WHO untuk pencegahan dan pengendalian infeksi, mengatakan ada bukti yang muncul dari penularan virus Corona melalui udara, tetapi itu tidak pasti.<\/p>\n

“Kemungkinan penularan melalui udara dalam pengaturan publik – terutama dalam kondisi yang sangat spesifik, padat, tertutup, pengaturan ventilasi buruk yang telah dijelaskan, tidak dapat dikesampingkan,” pungkasnya.<\/p>\n
