Gosip bakal merapatnya Cavani ke Old Trafford sudah santer berhembus dalam beberapa hari terakhir. Kabar tersebut akhirnya menjadi kenyataan, Selasa (6\/10\/2020) dini hari WIB.<\/p>\n

MU resmi mengumumkan Cavani sebagai pemain anyar mereka beberapa saat menjelang bursa transfer musim panas ditutup. Cavani diikat kontrak oleh MU selama satu tahun hingga Juni 2021.<\/p>\n

The Red Devils mendatangkan Cavani dengan status\u00a0free transfer\u00a0<\/em>usai kontraknya dengan Paris Saint-Germain habis akhir musim lalu. Cavani meninggalkan PSG setelah tujuh musim membela tim Ibu Kota Prancis tersebut.<\/p>\n

Di musim terakhirnya bersama PSG, ketajaman Cavani menurun drastis dibanding musim-musim sebelumnya. Ia hanya mampu mengemas tujuh gol dari 22 laga.<\/p>\n

Meski begitu, manajer MU Ole Gunnar Solskjaer tetap yakin dengan kemampuan mencetak gol Cavani. Pengalaman mantan pilar Napoli ini juga dibutuhkan untuk menjadi mentor bagi para penyerang muda MU semacam Marcus Rashford, Mason Greenwood dan Anthony Martial.<\/p>\n

“Dia akan membawa energi, kekuatan, kepemimpinan, dan mentalitas ke skuad ini. Namun yang terpenting, dia akan menghadirkan gol,” tutur Solskjaer dikutip dari situs resmi MU.<\/p>\n

“Dia memiliki karir yang cemerlang sejauh ini, memenangkan trofi di hampir setiap klub yang dibelanya, dan dia masih memiliki banyak hal untuk diberikan di level tertinggi.”<\/p>\n

“Peluang bagi para pemain muda kami untuk belajar dari salah satu pencetak gol top Eropa selama 10 tahun terakhir sangat fantastis dan itu akan sangat menguntungkan mereka di masa depan.”<\/p>\n

“Edinson tahu persis apa yang diperlukan untuk sukses dan kami semua menantikan untuk melihatnya memberikan pengaruh di Manchester United,” jelas Solskjaer soal Cavani.<\/p>\n

Edinson Cavani<\/a>\u00a0memang punya rekam jejak sebagai penyerang subur baik saat membela PSG maupun Napoli. Ia pernah dua kali meraih gelar top skor Liga Prancis di musim 2016\/2017 (35 gol) dan 2017\/2018 (28 gol), serta menjadi Capocannoniere Serie A musim 2012\/2013 (29 gol) .<\/p>\n
