Panasnya mencapai lebih dari 70 derajat celcius!<\/p>\n<p>Dasht-e Lut yang artinya dataran kosong adalah gurun terbesar ke 25 di dunia. Menurut para ilmuwan, Dasht-e Lut merupakan gurun garam besar yang terbentuk di dasar laut.<\/p>\n<p>Jutaan tahun lalu, pergeseran tektonik menyebabkan dasar laut naik, lalu airnya perlahan menguap akibat suhu tinggi. Kini lautan itu menjadi tanah tanah tandus berukuran 51.800 km persegi.<\/p>\n<p>Menurut penelitian NASA pada tahun 2003-2010,\u00a0suhu terpanas\u00a0rata-rata yang tercatat di Dasht-e Lut mencapai 70,7 derajat Celcius. Bagian terpanasnya adalah wilayah yang disebut Gandom Beryan, sebuah dataran tinggi yang dilapisi kerikil hitam vulkanik. Luasnya sekitar 480 km persegi.<\/p>\n<p>Kerikil hitam menjadi faktor penentu suhu ekstrim tanah di Dash-e Lut karena menyerap lebih banyak energi sinar matahari.<\/p>\n<p>Faktor lainnya yang berkontribusi terhadap panas ekstrim gurun ini ialah kurangnya vegetasi. Tanah asin membuat tanaman yang paling tangguh sekalipun sulit untuk hidup. Tanaman yang dapat hidup daerah panas tersebut ialah lumut gurun dan tamariska yaitu semak tangguh yang bisa tumbuh hingga 10 meter.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Suhu terpanas diamati di lokasi tanpa vegetasi,&#8221; kata ahli iklim, Roger Pielke dari Institut Kerjasama Penelitian Ilmu Lingkungan di Universitas Colorado kepada\u00a0NASA.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Ini berarti jika perubahan lanskap di suatu wilayah menghasilkan lebih sedikit vegetasi, suhu permukaan maksimum diperkirakan akan lebih panas.
